1. Release summary
Release 5.31 is a maintenance update to 5.30 to correct a few
specific problems found in the build. This document lists these
problems.
2. Problems Corrected in Version 5.31
1. The SYNC program was omitted from the distribution of 5.30
2. Netscape had a problem when connecting to FTPD when the
filespec was on the root.
3. The web server, HTTPD.EXP, was returning 'server can't do
searches' when given a URL of the form '/?xxxx'. The requested
behavior was to just return the root web page.
4. The network printer server, NPSERVER.EXP, did not transmit the
queue name to the printer server. This caused problems for
printer servers with more than one port, since the queue name
is used to distinguish the ports.
5. TCPMON/IP reported trash for some IP input packets
6. It was not possible to delete files from a Windows system with
spaces in the filename.
7. Maxpeed serial handler did not correctly report data set status
for the /PLUS series.
8. It was not possible to copy files to print queues in version
5.2 or version 5.3, or to open print queues as devices.
9. Copying files to windows systems truncated the destination
filename. For example, copy c:\x.x win::c:\longfile.longext
resulted in win::c:\longfil.lon.
10. Installation of networking disks overwrote the correct
SPOOLER.EXP with an older one. The correct one was dated June
4 1998, the old one was from December 1997.
11. Rewinding a 9 track tape crashed TSX.
