TSX-32 customers may, from time to time, wish to add additional IDE disk drives to a TSX-32 system. This is a relatively simple operation. This will describe the steps involved in getting TSX-32 to recognize the new disks.

For IDE disks, The TSX32.GEN file contains device definitions of form

DEVICE=DH/HANDDEF=DRATFD/CONTROLLER=A
	UNIT=0/options
	UNIT=1/options
This is the disk definition. When you add a new disk to the system or change the disk you will need to change that definition by either modifying it, when you have changed your drive, or by adding an addition device definition when you add a new drive.

To do that, install the disks and get them working under DOS. Then, use the DISKGEOM program under DOS to get new disk definitions. DISKGEOM will inquire as to the number of disks and will ask you to define the partitions on the disks. It will create a file called DISKGEOM.OUT.

Using an editor, delete the existing disk entry in the TSX32.GEN file (remember to delete all the unit definitions as well) and paste in the contents of DISKGEOM.OUT.

Regen the system with the command

TSGEN TSX32
and reboot. Your system should now have the new disks.

Note: When you add or change disks you may need to get a new key. This is normal and expected.
